If I were to walk into my grandparents home and start to speak about another person the way that Donald Trump does they would get very upset with me. They would be able to come up with multiple reason why saying hateful things is wrong. My grandparents are also Trump supporters. Make it make sense???? This hypocrisy is shared by so many of his supporters across the country, yet they are so blinded by their own need to be right that they can’t see the hate. There are so many different things that Trump has said and done that I could use as an example but I feel like a pretty solid one would be what was released from the Hollywood Access tape back in 2016.

In the beginning of the tape we can hear Billy Bush and Donald Trump talking about a woman they see outside the bus. Trump then proceeds to say that “ I did try to fuck her. She was married.” This alone should have been enough to upset his “christian” base. Using profanity and talking about trying to get with a married woman isn't something I thought was a Christian value. Then to make matters worse, Trump said that after trying to hit on this woman he “moved on her like a bitch” and said that she now has “big phony tits.” He used very derogatory words while speaking about a woman and then proceeded to make fun of her appearance.

As if the things he had already said weren't disgusting enough he then started talking about how he is “automatically attracted to beautiful” and “just starts kissing them, I don’t even wait.” Last time I check if a person comes up to someone in public and just starts automatically kissing them without their permission that would be considered sexual assault. There is this thing called consent and it seems like Trump is having trouble remembering what that means. Perhaps Trump was just never even taught what consent is because he then says that he grabs women “by the pussy” and that he can get away with it because “when you’re a star they let you do it.”

As a Trump supporter if you are able to defend what he said in this video then step back to consider what you are ok with. If it’s just “locker room talk,” then would you be ok with Trump or any other man saying this about your mother, daughter or sister? Would it be ok if a star came up and sexually assaulted someone you loved? Assaulted you? Does it only matter to you if it directly affects you or someone you know and if it doesn't then it’s just harmless talk right? Maybe even funny…….

If you are going to support Trump and defend his actions and words then make sure you understand what those implications mean. You are setting a standard for not only the president but for people all across our country when it comes to acceptable behavior. Politics isn't a joke. Words and actions matter. If you cannot stand behind someones words and actions then stop worshiping the ground they walk on.
